Here you find a selection of interesting websites concerning strategy and project management.

Strategy

EKS

EKS (this is a german acronym, best translation would be „minimum factor focused strategy“) was developed by Wolfgang Mewes. He is still the best and most helpful source for all strategic questions. Unfortunately Mewes‘ theory is only available in german language. You can find  summary in English here.

Theory of Constraints

In many aspects similar to EKS is Goldratt’s Theory of Constraints (TOC) which also has a high impact on the development of 360PM. Read more about this approach to strategic thinking on the website of the Goldratt Institute.

Project Management

PMI – PMBOK

The Project Management Body of Knowledge is not available for free, so you find here the link to a summary of wikipedia that gives a good overview and provides additional links to relevant sources. You can buy the Kindle edition of the PMBOK here.

IPMA – ICB

You can download The Competence Baseline of IPMA for free if you enter your mail address on IPMA’s website. It is a widely acknowledged standard for the certification of project managers in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The approach to define project management by a skill set of project managers is – we think – not longer state of the art since ISO21500 clearly decided to follow the process oriented approach of PMI and PRINCE2.

projectmanagement.com

The best knowlege base for project managers. As a premium member you have access to templates and check lists but also the free account is very useful; members of PMI can access the premium features for free, it is part of the membership package. The community is also present on Facebook.
